Why have the colours in Ajanta’s paintings lasted so long?
उत्तर – अजंता के चित्रों में नज़र आने वाले रंग इतने दिनों तक टिक पाए क्योंकि वे खनिजों से बने हैं।
Answer – The colours seen in Ajanta paintings have lasted so long because they are made from minerals.

2. अजंता की गुफाओं में बने चित्रों का मुख्य विषय क्या है?
What is the main theme of the paintings in the Ajanta caves?
उत्तर – अजंता की गुफाओं में बने चित्रों का मुख्य विषय बुद्ध के जीवन से जुड़ी जातक कथाएँ और बौद्ध धर्म है।
Answer – The main themes of the paintings in the Ajanta caves are the Jataka tales from the life of the Buddha and Buddhism.

3. अजंता की गुफाएँ किसने बनवाईं और क्यों?
Who built the Ajanta caves and why?
उत्तर – अजंता की गुफाएँ आस-पास के शहरों में रहने वाले धनी व्यापारियों या किसानों ने बौद्ध भिक्षुओं के रहने और उपासना करने के लिए बनवाईं।
Answer – The Ajanta caves were built by wealthy merchants or farmers from nearby towns for Buddhist monks to live and worship.

4. अनुपमा ने अजंता की दुनिया को सपनों की दुनिया क्यों कहा?
Why did Anupama call Ajanta’s world a dream world?
उत्तर – अनुपमा ने अजंता की दुनिया को सपनों की दुनिया कहा क्योंकि वहाँ की गुफाओं में दीवारों और छतों पर सुंदर चित्र बने हुए थे; ऐसे चित्र आजकल अन्य जगहों पर दिखाई नहीं देते।
Answer – Anupama called Ajanta’s world a dream world because the caves have beautiful paintings on the walls and ceilings; such paintings are not seen elsewhere nowadays.

5. बच्चे मामाजी के घर क्यों जाना चाहते थे?
Why did the children want to visit their maternal uncle’s house?
उत्तर – बच्चे मामाजी के घर जाना चाहते थे ताकि इसी बहाने वे अजंता की गुफाओं की कलाकारी का आनंद ले सकें।
Answer – The children wanted to visit their maternal uncle’s house so that, on that pretext, they could enjoy the artistry of the Ajanta caves.

Bhasha Abhyas – Class 5 – Chapter 9 – अजंता की सैर (Ajanta ki Sair)

1. पाठ ‘अजंता की सैर’ में आए कोई छह सर्वनाम शब्द छाँटकर लिखिए – (Choose any six pronouns from the lesson ‘Ajanta ki Sair’ and write them.)

2. दिए गए वाक्यों को ध्यानपूर्वक पढ़िए- (Read the given sentences carefully.)

• मामीजी हमें देखकर बहुत खुश हुईं।
  (Aunt became very happy on seeing us.)
• शहरों में धनी व्यापारी रहते थे।
  (Wealthy merchants lived in the cities.)
• वे लोग लंबी और पतली आँख को सुंदर मानते थे।
  (They considered long and thin eyes beautiful.)
• वहाँ के शहर, कस्बों की इमारतों की दीवारें आमतौर पर सपाट और कोरी होती हैं।
  (There, the walls of buildings in cities and towns are generally flat and bare.)

ऊपर दिए गए वाक्यों में से मोटे काले शब्दों को छाँटकर लिखिए और बताइए कि ये किसकी विशेषता बता रहे हैं- (Pick out the bold words above and say whose quality they tell.)

3. नीचे दिए गए चित्रों के आधार पर विशेषण और विशेष्य लिखिए – (Based on the pictures, write the adjective and the noun.)

4. नीचे दिए गए विशेष्यों के लिए चार-चार विशेषण लिखिए – (Write four adjectives for each given noun.)

5. नीचे दिए गए विशेषणों के लिए तीन-तीन विशेष्य लिखिए – (For each adjective, write three nouns.)

6. नीचे दिए गए शब्दों पर सही जगह बिन्दु (ं) या चन्द्रबिन्दु (ँ) लगाकर उन्हें दोबारा लिखिए – (Rewrite the words by placing the anusvara/ chandrabindu at the correct place.)

7. नीचे दिए गए वाक्यों को सही कारक चिह्न लगाकर पूरा कीजिए – (Complete the sentences by inserting the correct case markers.)

8. नीचे दिए गए शब्दों में उचित प्रत्यय लगाकर नया शब्द लिखिए – (Add the appropriate suffix to form a new word.)

9. नीचे दिए गए शब्दों के उचित वचन वाले रूपों से वाक्यों को पूरा कीजिए – (Complete the sentences using the correct singular/plural forms.)
